This TAB I found special, as the Vitlycke Center for Performing Arts is quite new and an exciting new place in the European contemporary dance field, and also because of the LEAP intensive: Teachers from all partner organisations teaching together in the same week.

I was" on" the first three days, with Nicolas Hubert and Rakesh Sukesh teaching in the morning and the psoas connection in the afternoon. Due to the physical exertion the group of dancers experienced in the morning I changed the pace of teaching in the afternoon to a quieter, analytical and restorative class.

Watching part of the classes in the morning gave me clues of what I wanted to work with in the afternoon - going into depth of some physical themes I observed in the morning classes - such as the release and sequential move of the lower rib cage, and subsequently of organs, knees in relationship to hip and feet, and how to regenerate while moving. It is detailed work and requires differentiated attention, although it may look easy there are quite some challenges inherent in the work.

Due to the fact that the dancers were very receptive and open to the work it was joyful, and fruitful to teach, albeit too short. I wish I had been able to stay throughout the whole week to go more into depth with this group.
However, to teach in this context helped me to sharpen my profile for my body of work, and I actually think an intensive week of this kind is an ideal frame for "the psoas connection".

Attached are images of the class. All photos are taken by Francesco Scavetta.
